UT Health Faculty Position: Clinician Educators in Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology, and Palliative Medicine
The Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology, and Palliative Medicine, Department of Medicine, is recruiting outstanding Clinician Educators to work as part of a thriving inpatient and outpatient palliative care service with a robust interdisciplinary team at the University inpatient service at the University of Texas Health – San Antonio in partnership with University Health System. Successful applicants will have key roles in the educational and clinical care aspects of the practice. The faculty position includes involvement in multiple teaching opportunities, on-site mentorship, and opportunities to participate in research or practice improvement.
In addition to providing excellent care, applicants should have skills and interests in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows and/or participating in clinical and educational research. The Division is fully integrated with UT Health – San Antonio resources, including the Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies, the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (Geriatrics Research Education and Clinical Center-GRECC, Geriatrics and Extended Care Programs), and ACGME Accredited Fellowship Programs in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Applicants must be Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and also be fellowship trained, and have or be eligible for Board Certification. Successful applicants will be appointed at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor dependent on experience.
