Cape Fear Valley Health System, located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, has retained Cejka Executive Search to conduct a national search to recruit a Vice President, Finance. This system leader will be a proven financial executive with the ability and interest to advance and expand responsibilities within a growing organization.
The Vice President is a newly created leadership position with accountability across the health system for financial affairs, to include directing the accounting, payroll, accounts payable and reimbursement functions. The Vice President of Finance will also be responsible for preparing budgets, financial statements and reports. Reporting to the Vice President is the Corporate Director of Finance, Director of Finance for Harnett Health System, and Director of Finance, Graduate Medical Education. The Vice President will have an opportunity to join a progressive organization involved in several strategic initiatives, including ambulatory growth strategy, implementation of a new Electronic Health Record, and expansion of residency programs as Cape Fear Valley Medical Center is evolving to a teaching hospital.
Located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Cape Fear Valley Health System is the 7th largest health system in the state and serves more than a million patients. With eight hospitals totaling approximately 1,100-beds, Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, a 600-bed hospital, is the system’s flagship facility. Cape Fear Valley Health System has the busiest Emergency Department in the state and one of top 15 busiest in the nation. With over 7,500 employees and 850 physicians, Cape Fear Valley Health System provides services to a 6-county region in southeastern North Carolina.
Successful candidates will be hands-on financial executives with strong operational and strategic skills and the ability and interest to advance and expand responsibilities with a growing organization. Five or more years of experience in accounting, auditing, or finance is required; experience in a “safety net” hospital, a multi-hospital system, or five years of public accounting practice servicing healthcare clients is ideal. A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced professional degree is preferred.
