Kissimmee seeks to hire an EEG Tech II who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
Florida Hospital Kissimmee is a 163 bed community-focused hospital, conveniently located near Walt Disney World. The team here is dedicated to bringing mission-focused, faith-based care to residents and visitors of Osceola and Orange Counties. Various Day/Shifts – candidates must be will to be on call every other weekend and be able to respond with one hour
Performs quality EEG, seizure monitoring, and evoked potential recordings. Has the ability to scan, correlate, and clip study information. Facilitates all aspects of study completion and reporting. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Is knowledgeable in and carries out all applicable processes of the department. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures. Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as required. Participates in the Florida Hospital performance improvement program. Performs additional duties as requested.
Extensive knowledge of EEG procedures and equipment.
Ability to observe EEG tracings and respond appropriately to seizure activity.
Ability to recognize artifact and reapplies or replaces appropriate electrode(s).
Ability to scan, correlate, and clip studies.
Ability to function independently with little or no supervision
Ability to communicate effectively.
Excellent customer service skills.
Minimum two years EEG experience or graduation from an EEG school.
EEG experience on Nihon Kohden equipment and software (preferred)
Computer skills, including Microsoft® Office applications (preferred)
Seizure monitoring experience (preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
ABRET registration (preferred)

Patient Care Responsibilities
Performs quality recordings by collecting pertinent patient history information, properly preparing the patient using age specific criteria, conducting the examination, and preparing the recording for the physician interpretation.
Uses appropriate activation procedures
Informs the supervisor and/or the physician of changes in the patient’s condition or abnormalities on the recording.
Maintains supplies and equipment for patient care and maintains an orderly and efficient system for storage and retrieval of patient information.
Performs quality seizure monitoring studies and marks events for the physician interpretation.
Archives studies, copies to appropriate storage device, and troubleshoots equipment issues
Accurately documents, posts, and charges for procedures to ensure quality standards set by the department and hospital.
Actively supports and participates in department and hospital quality improvement initiatives as directed.
Participates in process or performance improvement team, and proactively initiates process improvement ideas.
Maintains quality of recording scores within established guidelines.
Safety and the Environment of Care
Ensures equipment is in good working condition and initiates appropriate contacts when repairs are required.
Adheres to hospital infection control and safety standards.
Maintains a professional relationship with all customers. Maintains the confidentiality of employees, patients, administration, and medical staff information with no infractions.
Displays a caring and courteous attitude and goes above and beyond department expectations

Receives and gives report clearly to communicate patient care information to provide optimal care.
Keeps supervisor informed and seeks assistance and direction from appropriate individuals when confronted with unfamiliar procedures and techniques, before implementing them, to ensure deliverance of safe and effective patient care.
Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care.
Communicates with patients and family members appropriate to age and instructs them in techniques to optimize their care in the hospital, as well as after discharge.
Receives assignments, instructions, and guidance from supervisor and is compliant with supervisor special requests as situations dictate.
Attends monthly staff meetings.
Attends other meetings as requested.
