The Director of Quality & Risk directs the execution of organizational patient safety, patient & family satisfaction, clinical process efficiency, clinical resource utilization and clinical outcomes improvement activities and is responsible for the development, management and execution of the QAPI plan of the District. Collaborates with clinical and administrative staff and management to collect and compile data, perform medical chart review and prepare performance reports for Nursing, Ancillary departments, Medical Staff committees and Board of Directors. This position directs mandatory quality and performance reporting to outside agencies under direction of the Chief Operating Officer. Incumbent has overall knowledge of Performance Improvement standards, functions and understanding of Medical Staff and Nursing Department Performance Improvement programs. Provides analytic and project management duties as needed to facilitate efficient functioning of the QAPI/Risk Management Department. This position directs Quality Improvement Analyst(s) and Performance Improvement staff and coordinates with other departments with hospital-wide clinical documentation improvement. This position is responsible for preparing for, coordinating during and responding to accreditation and other regulatory body surveys and serves as the QAPI lead for survey response. This position serves as the NIHD Safety Officer, performing all functions as defined in this job description. This position works with the Medical Staff and Medical Staff Support Services on development and implementation of OPPE/FPPE, peer review and administrative processes.
Bachelors Degree and minimum of Two years of management experience, One year of Quality/Risk management experience
Experience with report writing and Project management experience
Knowledge of medical terminology
Proficient with Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
Good organizational skills
Experience with data collection, analysis and information management
Attain CPHQ, Six Sigma or similar certification within 1-2 years of hire
Become Certified Professional in Patient Safety within 1-2 years of hire
Become Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management within 1-2 years of hire
Master’s Degree in Healthcare or Business related field
CPHQ, Six Sigma or similar certification
Experience with Report presentation
