Full time hospice physician wanted to join The Washington Home and Community Hospices (TWHCH) in Northwest Washington, DC. With a 130 year history of caring for those in greatest need, and a legacy of innovation, we are in the process of reinventing ourselves once again. With strong ties with George Washington University’s Hospice and Palliative Medicine program, an academic appointment is yours for the asking. Students and fellows rotate through our hospice- you will have ample opportunity to help others learn our craft! If you are newly graduated, feel confident that you have a vibrant and enthusiastic faculty and Executive Medical Director to continue to mentor and support you. If you have been in the business, these same colleagues are here to be your sounding board and collaborators.
TWHCH is easily accessed from northern Virginia and southern Maryland. Fabulous public and private schools abound. Easy access to 3 area international airports, hiking in the nearby Blue Ridge mountains, jogging and picnicking in beautiful Rock Creek Park, boating on the historic Potomac River and Annapolis Bay, numerous nearby beaches, and of course the world class museums, monuments and performance venues that you’d expect from the nation’s capital.
Work hours are Monday-Friday and easy call one weekend per month. Daily rounds in our 9 bed IPU and physician duties associated with our 3 homecare teams, including CTIs, IDT, symptom visits and F2F as needed. Serve as a mentor to and innovator with our clinical staff. Participate in quality oversight and improvement projects, community outreach and education. Facilitate strong relationships with referral sources. Enjoy the collaboration of highly skilled clinicians.
