Orlando Health, one of Florida’s most comprehensive private, not-for-profit healthcare networks, is seeking a Vice President, Behavioral Health (VP). The diversified health system encompasses nine hospitals, a large multi-specialty medical group (OHMG), and a clinically integrated network, Orlando Health Network. The recent affiliation with Lakeland Regional Health brings Orlando Health’s total revenue in excess of $3.4 billion annually, with more than 23,000 employees and a medical staff of nearly 2,100 physicians.
This is a newly created role for Orlando Health and will establish the behavioral health service line ensuring a full and holistic continuum of services exists and is responsive to customer needs (patient, team member, and physician). The VP will guide the development of the overall leadership structure and strategic plan, create goals and plans for quality and financial management, and work to assure behavioral health services becomes a vibrant and integral service line within Orlando Health.
This executive will work to provide effective leadership with regard to finances, relationship development and management with key stakeholders and practicing physicians, strategic growth, and the ability to create and align a vision for behavioral health with larger organizational goals. Working in collaboration with hospital presidents, operational leaders at all sites and leaders of OHMG, the VP will ensure that the service line meets all of their goals. The position will participate in the development of strategies, goals and tactics to enhance behavioral health offerings of Orlando Health to providers and community partners.
The ideal candidate will be a system thinker and team player with at least five years’ experience managing inpatient psychiatric services, including clinical, operational and financial performance. An entrepreneurial spirit and proven track record of performance in business development, community relations and strategic partnerships will enable the incumbent to develop relationships with external stakeholders. Preferred experience includes leading behavioral health services in both a hospital-based inpatient and outpatient-based setting, productivity enhancement, revenue improvement, cost reduction, program development and quality management. A clinical background is desirable.
