Job Description
Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) is a community based strategic planning, assessment, and improvement process. NACCHO provides technical assistance, training, and resources to communities implementing the MAPP process. Over 900 communities have used MAPP across the country.

The MAPP Communications intern will work as a member of the Assessment and Planning team and is responsible for supporting the communications efforts of the MAPP program. This is a six month full time internship with opportunities for a six month extension. The Intern will be paid $12-$15 per hour.

POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES: • Revamp and manage MAPP social networking site • Conduct web-based research on resources and advancements that support the assessment and planning portfolio • Assist with MAPP trainings via e-learning, webinars, and in-person workshops • Develop and organize MAPP Clearinghouse • Create and manage MAPP technical assistance tracking system • Assist with meeting planning and coordination • Assist with regular communication with members, including drafting email distribution list updates, web page content, Public Health Dispatch articles, and e-newsletters • Other duties as assigned.

MAJOR PROJECTS: • Revamped MAPP social networking site • Development of training modules • New technical assistance technical system • Reports summarizing new resources and advancements that support the assessment and planning portfolio


Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Undergraduate (third year or above) or graduate student in public health, health education, communications, marketing, business or related field preferred. (Currently in school or recent graduate) • Medium-level computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint and Word required • Medium-level skills with web editing preferred
