|MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: • Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior undergraduate or graduate level student in an accredited college or university; majoring in public health, health education, communications, marketing, business public or related field. • Minimum of 12 completed semester credit hours from an accredited college or university; • Must have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 grade point scale or "Pass" on a Pass/Fail system. |

Knowledge • Interest in learning about how a non-profit organization organizes and implements advocacy activities to further the organization’s mission • Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment • Preferred, not required: Familiarity with public health practice and policy
Skills • Strong interpersonal skills • Strong organizational skills • Strong written and oral communication skills • Medium-level computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word required • Medium-level skills with web editing preferred • Interest in learning SPSS and NVIVO preferred
Abilities • Ability to synthesize information for written and oral reporting • Ability to communicate well on the phone and in person • Ability to multitask • Ability to organize work projects and complete tasks within assigned time frames • Ability to work effectively within teams • Ability to work independently as necessary to achieve high performance • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in all aspects of work
WORK DURATION & CONDITIONS • Negotiable and flexible between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm; at least 20 hours per week. The internship is unpaid. NACCHO will work with intern to facilitate academic credit. • Internship duration and schedule to be mutually determined by supervisor and intern; • Must conform to NACCHO dress and grooming standards, work rules and safety procedures.
