Consistent with the Mission and Core Values, the CHRISTUS Health (CH) Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is responsible for ensuring that nursing and allied health care is delivered within the framework of evidence-based practice throughout the health system continuum, both domestic and international, and for understanding existing and emerging requirements in healthcare quality, safety, patient care service/experience, and operational improvements. Under the direction of the EVP/Chief Clinical Officer, partnering with other Clinical Excellence Division leaders, and in collaboration with regional and facility CNOs, as well as other leaders, physicians, health care professionals, and board of trustees, he/she leads the strategic direction, executive and clinical leadership, system-wide planning, innovative organization, and resource management for all aspects of nursing and allied health professional practice and education and provides for the overall delivery of safe, high quality patient care across the continuum of health care services for CHRISTUS Health and affiliates. The CNO, in collaboration with others, will be responsible to develop a national reputation for excellence in nursing and allied health care services to provide exceptional care and service for an enhanced patient experience.
The incumbent must also possess the skills to direct CH and partner providers in redesign of clinical processes across the continuum of care, i.e., have the creativity to design and orchestrate innovative care delivery transformation to serve the unique needs of our communities through innovative design of delivery models, and improved efficiency of care delivery, as well as regional support by providing research and analytical expertise, education, and leadership.
This position also serves as the professional expert for nursing and allied health standards of care for senior regional and system-level leaders. This includes working to assure that all professional standards of practice and scope of services are aligned with CH staffing and work assignments.
