| The City of Lincoln and Lancaster County is seeking qualified candidates to fill an executive leadership role as Director of the Lincoln/Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD). LLCHD enjoys a reputation as a leader in municipal health departments among similar cities and counties across the nation, and seeks a, proven, innovative leader to guide the agency into the next stage of development. As an agency director serving both the city and county, the LLCHD Director is appointed by the Mayor, but has a reporting responsibility to the County Board of Commissioners for county functions and funds. The Lincoln/Lancaster County Board of Health serves in an advisory capacity to LLCHD. |
The Director leads an operational team which oversees all aspects of municipal public health including animal control, environmental public health, health promotion data and evaluation, dental and nutrition services, information and fiscal management, and community health services. Program areas include epidemiology, communicable disease surveillance and response, food safety, hazardous materials response, Title V Air Quality, in addition to personal and community health programs and services. Director must provide strong strategic and operational leadership and be able to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships at the local, state and federal level. Proven leadership in public health enforcement including civil penalty, county and district court action, and legislative experience is desired. LLCHD employees 185 employees with an annual budget of $20 million.
