California Correctional Health Care Services’ (CCHCS) Privacy Office is seeking a Chief Privacy Officer to direct all departmental privacy-related programs while ensuring compliance with privacy laws; manage the development and implementation of the Privacy Office’s goals and objectives; and maintain constant interaction and coordination with all levels of CCHCS staff and management as well as state and federal oversight agencies, including, but not limited to, the California Attorney General, California Office of Health Information and Integrity, California Office of Information Security, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
To thrive in this role, you must have expert knowledge of state and federal information privacy laws, specifically those related to health care; the ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of multidisciplinary professionals and administrative staff; well-developed verbal and written communication skills; and the ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with representatives of all levels of government, the public, and the State Legislature and Executive branches.
