The Director of Surgery contributes to the goals of the hospital by generating new surgical business, developing and controlling operational and capital budgets, intervening and solving potential patient safety problems, and developing the personnel, physical environment, material and organizational systems to provide competitive, cost effective OR services. Acts as a liaison and public relations representative between other departments of the hospital and the community. Assists in designing a competitive structure and controls the department's inventory of equipment and supplies. Provides quality care in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the standards of care based on each patients requirements relative to his or her appropriate age group.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a health related field required. Masters' Degree Preferred in Nursing or Healthcare Administration.
Skills: Background required in management principles, leadership, medical staff relationships, finance, problem solving, business growth and development, COI principles and human resources development and management. Proficiency in oral and written communication. Demonstrates ability to integrate CST mission and values into hospital operations.
Experience: Minimum 5 years progressive management experience
