Under the direction of the MHS Executive Director, Lean & Materials, this position’s primary responsibility is to manage and support all Material Management activities for inventory planning, receiving and distribution of supplies needed to support operations at MemorialCare Medical Foundation (MCMF) sites and associated entities. Provides leadership and direction in establishing operational goals and objectives for functions listed above in support of MemorialCare strategic plan, system Material Resources and campus objectives. Coordinates MCMF site Material inventories and oversees receiving, distribution and mail/postage functions within areas of responsibility. Serves as lead coordinator for materials management of supplies and supporting service vendor needs of new MCMF site launches. Continually assesses and improves performance of areas under his/her direction. Serves as part of MHS Material Resources leadership team and effectively collaborates with Purchasing, Contracting and Hospital Materials Management functions of the MemorialCare Supply Chain and MCMF Pharmacy pursuing greatest possible system synergies. Position is also responsible for the supervision and management of the MHS on-site Mailroom delivery & receiving functions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides direction and leadership for management of inventory planning, set up and receiving at all MCMF sites; rapidly and efficiently responds with organized supply chain support in a growing and changing environment.
Effectively serves as a member of the system-level Material Resources leadership team.
Responsible for maintenance and implementation of system level Material Resources policies and procedures that pertain to MCMF operations inventory management and receiving functions and campus site vendor management.
Accountable for operational and financial management of budgets and of inventory from receipt to issue for controls necessary to maintain accurate reporting, accountability, and plan for improvement including annual inventory audit.
Accountable for the development of a competent and effective MCMF Materials Management team.
Provides leadership and direction for Lean improvement strategy, events and sustainment support.
Manages all MHS & MCMF mail/postage requirements, budgets and staff.
5 to 7 years of progressive experience in healthcare materials and/or healthcare Lean management
Additional certification in healthcare materials management or Lean preferred
Superior technical, interpersonal, communication and consensus-building skills; consistently flexible and constructive attitude
Demonstrated customer service orientation with sensitivity to campus site customer needs
Excellent communication skills with all types of media and all levels of leadership and employees; MMIS, data analysis expertise
Excellent teaching, coaching and mentoring skills with demonstrated track record
Demonstrated 5S and Lean management system implementation leadership and experience
Demonstrated subject matter expertise for Federal, State and other regulatory accreditation standards as they relate to site Materials Management functions
Bachelor’s degree with significant qualifications and experience relating to healthcare industry supply chain management
