Palmdale Regional Medical Center serves the region by providing high quality medical services to residents of the Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding communities. With the recent addition of the Rehabilitation Institute, the hospital features 184 licensed acute care beds as well as inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiac services featuring a STEMI Receiving Center (heart attack) and a 35-bed 24-hour emergency department.Â The Center for Wound Care provides treatment for people with chronic non-healing wounds. This comprehensive wound-healing service includes hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Palmdale Regional Medical Center is active in the community and regularly participates with the Antelope Valley Board of Trade, Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance, Chambers of Commerce and other civic and governmental groups. Palmdale Regional Medical Center believes in "Community Service Excellence" and supports nonprofit agencies such as the American Cancer Society, United Way, the Antelope Valley Boys and Girls Club and performing arts organizations.

Rehabilitation (Rehab)Â Liaison also known as Intake Coordinator, Rehab Intake Liaison, Rehab coordinator, Clinical Liaison, Clinical Lab LiaisonÂ
The Rehabilitation Liaison is responsible for identifying patients who meet program criteria and will benefit from program services and facilitates effective care transitions to the rehabilitation setting.Â Â The liaison travels extensively within the service area to collaborate with referring organizations and to identify potential patients as early as possible so that timely care can be facilitated.Â Educates patients, family members, referral sources, and external payors regarding the effective and efficient utilization of program services and available resources.Â Screens clients through onsite and/or telephonic assessments and record review in collaboration with physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers, case managers and other team members involved in the patientâ€™s care.Â Determines medical stability, readiness for program participation, and ensures that services recommended are appropriate, reasonable and necessary.Â This is done in collaboration with the physical medicine and rehabilitation physician.Â Facilitates benefit eligibility and precertification by payors prior to the rehabilitation admission.Â Coordinates a smooth transition from the referring facility or site to the rehabilitation setting.Â Recommends appropriate level of care and services for clients who are denied admission and provides guidance for patients who may benefit from rehabilitation admission in the future.
