The Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) is an essential part of an interdisciplinary nursing unit which works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and provides coordination of unit communications, transcribes medical information and physician orders, and performs clerical reception for the nursing unit. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS Health St. Patrick Hospital, and demonstrating behavior consistent with the Core Values
High school diploma or GED preferred
Successful completion of a Nurse Aid course, EMT course or successful completion of skills clinicals in nursing school preferred
American Heart Association Basic Life Support or completion within 90 days of employment
Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and medical staff both verbally and written form
