340B Health has an opening for a paid Government Relations Internship at our growing non-profit health care trade association. This position reports directly to the PAC and Advocacy Manager.
340B Health seeks an intern to work part time (20+ hours per week) on issues that affect hospitals participating in the Federal 340B drug discount program. The Government Relations Intern will play an integral part in planning 340B Health’s Annual Spring Fly-in and Workshop and support all government relations initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to learn first-hand how an association government relations team operates.
Assist government relations team in all aspects of planning 340B Health’s Spring Fly-in and Workshop including recruitment, creating materials for attendees, engaging with key contacts at 340B hospitals, and facilitating execution of a successful event
Monitor and summarize congressional hearings as needed
Support government relations team in outreach to Capitol Hill
Other government relations duties as assigned
A previous internship on Capitol Hill
A strong interest in the political process and health care policy
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong analytical, writing, and communications skills
A positive attitude and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
