Heart Transplant Surgery
Memorial Healthcare System
Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a BE/BC adult cardiac surgeon to join the Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute. All candidates should have training and/or experience in heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support and ECMO and while not mandatory, those with training in minimally invasive valve surgery are encouraged to apply. The selected candidate will join an established division and will aid in the continued growth of a high quality and highly sustainable cardiac surgery and heart transplant program.
The Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute (MCVI) is the regional market leader in cardiovascular services. The MCVI has an extensive multidisciplinary team that provides cardiovascular care of the highest quality for pediatric and adult patients in our community. The adult cardiac surgery program currently has three adult cardiac surgeons aided by a dedicated cardiac surgery team which includes anesthesia, OR nursing, CVICU critical care physicians, and CVICU nursing. The MCVI cardiac surgery program has the highest volume in Broward County and second highest in South Florida. Additionally, the MCVI has a track record of high quality care and excellence in patient outcomes. The Society of Thoracic Surgeons has awarded a “Three Star” quality rating to the MCVI cardiac surgery program in all ranking categories, a distinction awarded to only 1% of programs in the nation. The program has received a “Three Star” quality rating every year for the past five years.
The MCVI has a strong commitment to provide state-of-the-art advanced heart failure care to our community, which includes separate clinical teams to provide pediatric and adult heart failure care. The adult advanced heart failure team provides heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support services including all FDA-approved implantable long-term devices and temporary support devices. A busy adult ECMO program provides critical care/ECMO transport services with deployment of ECMO by our team at referring facilities.
This is a full-time employed position with the multispecialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.
A Memorial representative from our recruitment division will be in attendance at the upcoming American College of Cardiology (ACC) Scientific Sessions and Career Fair on March 16-18, 2019, to be held in New Orleans, LA. Please stop by our booth #124 to learn more about the open opportunities with Memorial Healthcare System.
