Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.
Kingwood Pines Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Director of Admissions. The Director of Admissions is accountable for directing the admission/assessment activities (both in-patient and out-patient services) at the facility. As a clinician, this position provides direction to staff consisting of Intake Representations, Clinicians and RNs in the provision of psychiatric assessment, including clinical evaluations, crisis intervention, and referrals. This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, fellow department heads, administration and functions as a liaison with other hospital departments.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Provides leadership for, direction to, and oversight of the Intake/Admissions Department
Recognizes signs and symptoms of chemical dependency disorders and applies/utilizes appropriate treatment interventions.
Recognizes signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and applies/utilizes appropriate treatment interventions.
Maintains accurate census and provide reports as required.
Maintains thorough records of all inquiries from initial contact to final disposition.
Maintains patient data reports as related to managed care contracts.
Maintains updated community resources manual and ensure availability and accessibility to staff.
Monitors referrals and patient registration activities including any follow-up.
Participates in assigned committees.
Performs assessments and tours.
Develops and monitors/analyzes programs related to patient data as needed.
Conducts orientation/on-going training to Intake/Admissions Department and the Utilization Review Department staff.
Oversees facility's role in any area related to the Mental Health Code and ensures compliance with all Local, State and Federal regulations.
