DESCRIPTION: Responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the department in compliance with departmental rules and regulations. Some duties include answering a high volume of incoming calls promptly, transferring calls to staff as needed. Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, tests, and procedures by entering pertinent patient information into the patient scheduling system. Obtain insurance pre-certification prior to tests and procedures. Contact patients and/or physician offices to gather necessary information such as referrals or to reschedule appointments. Assist with entering the billing charges to the billing system as needed. Able to function independently with minimal direction from supervisor. Promote a positive and healthy workplace environment. Follow HIPAA Compliance at all times. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: High School/ Vocational High School Graduate or possession of an approved High School Equivalency Certificate required. Bachelor Degree Preferred. Bilingual preferred. Familiarity of Medical terminology preferred Thorough knowledge of modern office methods, practices and equipment and ability to perform confidential and complex clerical tasks Proficient in Microsoft Suite Demonstrates the ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
