The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for working directly with patients and physicians, performing transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms while providing patient care and safety.
Independent judgement and initiative required while operating diagnostic ultrasound equipment, preparing exam rooms and keeping the ultrasound department stocked.
Must be Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Echocardiography or Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Registry Eligible employees MUST obtain certification meeting the aforementioned requirement within 6 months after employment date.
Each employee is responsible for acquiring his/her own Continuing Education Credits to stay in good standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)C. Employee must attend all hospital mandatory in services.D. Must be certified in Basic Life Support.
One year of experience in complete 2D, m-mode, Adult Echo and Transesohogeal Echo required..
