Provides secretarial support to Service Line Director and monitors daily operations of the back office. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Medical Center in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.

Works under the supervision of the Pulmonary clinic Team Lead and Pulmonary Medicine Operations Manager.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates competence in written, oral, and electronic communication skills (intermediate typing, keyboarding and computer skills).
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of medical terminology, insurance referral and precertification processes, coding, EPIC applications, IDX, and SMS.
Demonstrates ability to set priorities, multi-task, and provide problem resolution.
Demonstrates skills in customer service, organization, interpersonal relations.
Demonstrates a high regard for confidentiality.
Demonstrates flexibility, tact, and ability to perform both independently and as a team member.
Demonstrates ability to be a self-starter, capable of working quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities.
Demonstrates a solid understanding of general office support functions and of a specialized/specific area, with specialized skills and the ability to coordinate and be accountable for multiple tasks.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required.
Requires 1 to 3 years clerical experience.
Minimum six months KAP experience required and/or minimum 1 -3 years secretarial experience required; clinic, medical office experience preferred.
Successful completion of Key Access Personnel (KAP) training during orientation period.
Proficiency with Epic, Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Word preferred.
