The psychiatric outpatient nurse practitioner (NP) works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team in the Vanderbilt Adult Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic.
The psychiatric outpatient NP has a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and education, has a responsibility for ensuring adherence to diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms and protocols, and guarantees an environment of high-quality care. The NP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical competence, sound clinical judgment, professional communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and is responsible for professional development and competency validation.
This position requires a master's degree in Nursing and ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Must be eligible for DEA license.
Current Tennessee RN license and TN APN certificate with certificate of fitness to prescribe.
Twelve months of psychiatric nursing experience is preferred.
Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM, with the possibility of on-call duty in rotation with other staff.
