The Financial Analyst provides financial and operational analysis, to assist in business decisions, supporting all levels of management throughout the health system. Areas supported by this position include, Service Line performance, Financial and Strategic Initiatives, In addition, this position will assist with data integrity analyses to ensure accuracy of data within the Analytics database. This position reports to the Director of Revenue Analytics, and will work closely with other members of the Revenue Analytics and Decision Support team. Travel may be required to other RWJBarnabas Health facilities.
Daily Reconciliation of source files to the general ledger and secondary reporting tools
Responsible of maintenance of host system mapping to the general ledger
Analyzes reimbursement with the ability to reconcile to source data, and identify and research variances
Assists with the preparation and accuracy of the A/R reserve calculations and contract modeling that apply contractual adjustments within the billing systems
Preparation and analysis of monthly Revenue reporting and communication to upper management
Provides necessary analysis and communication specific to reimbursement impacts related to regulatory or contractual changes
Collaborates in revenue optimization opportunities with Managed Care, CBO, Charge Integrity and operations
Assist with implementation, reconciliation and training of new backend financial system
Bachelor s Degree in accounting , business or finance
2-5 years experience in accounting environment involving computer applications
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, PostgreSQL, and strong analytical skills required
Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate ability to analyze large amounts of data, and present a meaningful format
Strong analytical skills, knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, and the ability to produce meaningful reports, is critical to this position.
