The Carlton-Cook-Lake-St. Louis Community Health Board (CCLS CHB) is now accepting applications for the Director position.
This visionary leader will be innovative, flexible, collaborative, and adaptable with the ability to provide strategic leadership within the changing public health landscape.
The ideal candidate will have:
Public health experience at the leadership and supervisory level with the ability to build inclusive and effective partnerships;
Budget expertise within complex systems, successfully managing multiple programs and navigating public funds, grants and other funding streams;
Cross jurisdictional experience with the ability to build relationships across diverse communities and sectors;
A community minded outlook with a proven ability to understand diverse local, regional and national perspectives; and
A passion and commitment to public health.
Additional duties include:
Work effectively with elected officials and public health leaders within four diverse counties;
Assess and monitor health factors within the region and develop strategies to effectively communicate public health priorities;
Provide oversight, evaluation and program management, under the direction of the CCLS CHB Board; and
Supervise the CHB personnel, supporting an inclusive and high performing team.
Required skills and experience for the Director position (Community Health Services Administrator, pursuant to Minn. R. 4736.0110):
A baccalaureate or higher degree in administration, public health, community health, environmental health, or nursing, and two years of documented public health experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity, or be registered as an environmental health specialist or sanitarian in the state of Minnesota and have two years of documented public health experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity; OR
A master's or higher degree in administration, public health, community health, environmental health, or nursing, and one year of documented public health experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity; OR
A baccalaureate or higher degree and four years of documented public health experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
The documented experience must include skills required to:
Prepare and manage grants;
Direct and implement health programs;
Prepare and manage budgets;
Manage a planning process to identify, coordinate, and deliver necessary services;
Prepare necessary reports;
Evaluate programs for efficiency and effectiveness;
Coordinate the delivery of community health services with other public and private services; and
Advise and assist the Community Health Board in the selection, direction, and motivation of personnel.
Additional requirements include:
Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record are required.
A comprehensive background study is required.
