Geisinger, one of the premier tertiary medical systems on the east coast, serving the northeast and central Pennsylvania regions, is recruiting a Board Certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine Director to join our growing multidisciplinary teams at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (GWV) and Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC). This position will provide a structured mentorship and a solid foundation to start your leadership/administration track. The successful candidate will act as a clinical lead for MFM in the northeastern region of Geisinger. Will work to coordinate expansion efforts, build relationships with referring providers and ensure quality of MFM care throughout the region. This person will also work collaboratively with MFM System Chief, MFM Nurse Practitioner Chief, and other Geisinger leadership. We have three dedicated neonatal intensive care units within Geisinger ready to provide the highest quality care, along with a team of Perinatologists, MFM nurse practitioners, perinatal ultrasonographers and dedicated genetic counselors. Our team sees an ample volume of patients and supports an MFM fellowship program (since 2006). We have approximately 200 transfer patients who come to our labor and delivery unit and are roughly 1,800 deliveries at GWV and 500 at GCMC. GEISINGER WYOMING VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER: (GWV), located in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., is an acute care hospital that is licensed for 274 beds, and houses the only Level II Trauma center in Luzerne County.
