The Senior Risk Manager is responsible for the coordination, supervision and implementation of systems necessary for the identification, evaluation, monitoring, reduction and/or elimination of professional and general liability risk exposures. They counsel and educate leadership, clinical personnel, medical staff members and trainees related to risk exposures including risk prevention and risk reduction. They conduct investigations into untoward patient’s events, make decisions regarding the need for Root Cause Analysis and Sentinel Event determination and if such occurrences are potentially compensable events. They create and revise administrative hospital policies. And, they manage the staffing and coordination responsibilities for one of the Medical Staff Committees the department is responsible for facilitating.
Minimum required qualifications for consideration:
8 years' experience in a health care environment including performance improvement and/or risk management activities.
CPHRM - Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Management.
Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field. RN license/training is an obvious plus.
