The Licensed Practical Nurse performs a wide range of resident care and supportive duties in the Community Living Center (CLC). The LPN GS-7 must demonstrate an exceptional degree of practical nursing knowledge and skills necessary for concentrated effort and self-direction to provide care of the medically complex veteran population. If you are a federal employee, please apply under Announcement #CBST-10932878-21-DW Duties include but are not limited to: The LPN assigned to CLC is held accountable for delivering direct resident care to adult through geriatric aged residents. He/she recognizes the age-related needs and demonstrates knowledge and care appropriate to that age group. He/she considers the cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological maturation need of the resident demonstrates competence and correctly provides appropriate care for that age group or groups. He/she has a broad working knowledge of practical nursing procedures. He/she recognizes culture differences in residents and demonstrates ability to understand and respect the resident's culture, values, beliefs, and practices. He/she directs residents in restorative techniques to preserve functioning and prevent complications through exercise, ambulation, gait training, bowel/bladder training, socialization groups, and activity of daily living. Other duties assigned Work Schedule: Rotating 8 hour shifts 07:00am-03:30pm/3:00pm-11:30pm and 11:00pm-07:30am Telework: This is not a telework position Virtual: This is not a virtual position Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
