The VA Sierra Nevada health Care System (VASNHCS) Medical-Surgical Unit Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional nurse who provides leadership and assumes continuous responsibility for the development, implementation, coordination, maintenance and evaluation of the critically ill patient requiring stabilization and/or resuscitation for a wide variety of illnesses and injuries, including diagnosed or undiagnosed problems of varying complexity. Practice affects programs at the service and/or medical center level. Demonstrates leadership that is sustainable regardless of te role. Uses collaborative strategies with all VASNHCS departments in order to maximize patient care. Serves as a mentor and consultant to healthcare staff involved in patient care.
