AM TRACE LLC has an immediate opening for a full time Director of K-12 School Health Programs to support our partners in public health working at the intersection of education, learning and student health. This position will begin immediately. Candidates will work remotely from a home office with occasional travel to oversee program implementation as needed.
The Director of K-12 School Health Programs will oversee K-12 programmatic response to COVID-19 and other public health emergencies. A successful candidate will develop, implement, and interpret policies and procedures, and will advise executive management on strategies and opportunities to provide support to K-12. The candidate will also perform, plan, assign, oversee, and evaluate the work of subordinate management and support staff to support our K-12 programs. Further, the candidate will interface with government and public health partners to provide nuanced insight into issues affecting these communities.
Establishes, maintains, and directs the basic activities in school health programs specifically pertaining to K-12. The focus will be on COVID-19 programming for the remainder of 2021.
Performs the full range of administrative and technical supervision to plan, assign, oversee, and evaluate the work of subordinate management and support staff; provides technical guidance and support to staff where appropriate.
Establishes and maintains understanding and cooperation with local K-12 organizations toward effective community health.
Directs the review and analysis of existing and proposed Federal, State, and local regulations, legislation, or policies affecting the division or program, Including Funding at Federal, State, and Local levels.
Directs the assessment and evaluation of programmatic activities affecting the health and well-being of individuals served by the program, and directs the coordination and dissemination of findings and recommendations developed from the evaluations conducted.
Liaise directly with school boards, superintendents, and other decision makers in the education community to bring about positive change as it pertains to overall student body health and health literacy.
Educational and Professional Requirements:
MPH, MPP, MSN or similar master level degree
Advanced degree in nursing preferred
M/CHES or similar certification preferred
15+ years of experience in public health nursing, 7 of which are in a school health setting
Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of modern medicine related to public health services; structure and functions of health organizations; and current social and economic problems pertaining to public health
General knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to public health in school systems.
Ability to plan, supervise, and execute a local health program
Establish and maintain effective working relationships; coordinate activities among public, private, and professional groups
Express ideas clearly and concisely; address audiences effectively; and exercise balanced judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to speak, read, and write English
Critical thinking and sound judgment required
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
PC with Windows 10 or Mac with Mac OS 10.15 or newer

Experience with Google Suite
Must have a quiet, dedicated workspace
User provided home high-speed network connection
Familiarity with Student Tracking Platforms for Purposes of Integration with Local Health Authority
