The individual in this position, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist (depending on state regulations), should maintain an in-depth working knowledge of pharmacy automation systems and will be responsible for the management of pharmacy automation hardware and software. Position duties include the following activities: Optimize automation systems, such as automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs), carousels, etc to ensure safe and efficient pharmacy services.
Liaison with clinical staff to ensure pharmacy automation systems are performing optimally and provide assistance as needed.
The individualâ��s responsibilities include the following activities: in-depth working knowledge of hospital pharmacy automation systems, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs), carousels, narcotic vaults, pre-packaging machines, IV workflow system, etc,
Responsible for implementing, optimizing, and maintaining pharmacy automation systems to support the provision of safe and efficient pharmacy services,
Train new staff on automation hardware and software and provide periodic training updates to pharmacy, clinical, and physician staff as needed,
Provide assistance and lead automation systems upgrades and work closely with outside vendors as a point person during upgrades and new installation of technology,
Work with outside vendors during service calls and troubleshooting of automation systems,
Creation and maintenance of reports derived from automation hardware and software that support pharmacy systems,
Other duties as assigned.
Required: High school graduate or equivalent Preferred: Bachelors Degree
Required: 2 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience
Required: Registered Pharmacy Technician license. Pharmacy Technician certification (both based on state requirements)
