W.G. "BILL" Hefner VA Medical Center is looking for an experienced Lead Medical Supply Technician to work at the Kernersville HCC. Provide sterilization, preparation, supply items and reusable medical equipment decontamination and distribution support for the Medical Center. Assign workload evenly among employees. Monitor and report status of work to superiors. Assess quality and quantity of work being done. Provide concerns to Management Officials when it comes to performance issues, assignment changes and task completion. Conforms to and ensures that all safety and infection control rules, regulations and requirements (e.g., dress code and traffic control procedures) in the decontamination and preparation areas are followed by all personnel working in, or entering the work area. Train new employees in accordance with procedure and practices. Monitor work conditions to provide a safe workplace for the employees. Resolve simple, informal complaints of employees and refer formal grievances to Management Personnel. Provide training on Material Handling, Sterilization or High-Level disinfection techniques, Operation of Disinfection and Sterilization equipment, Principles of Sterile Material Storage and correct Sterilization and decontamination method. Approves emergency leave. Oversees attendance and leave so adequate staff is available to perform all SPS functions.
