The Clinician II in the Pre-Anesthesia Surgical Services (PASS) clinic is part of a team that works to complete a comprehensive assessment of the patient's medical, surgical, and anesthesia history, ensuring all medical issues have been addressed and/or optimized prior to scheduled surgery
Understanding clinical indicators of pre-operative risk and completing a comprehensive pre-operative assessment and optimization of medical conditions enables risk reduction of surgery under anesthesia.
The goals of the PASS clinic are to minimize surgical morbidity, mortality, surgical delays, and cancellations. The PASS clinic process can improve patient satisfaction by thoroughly and appropriately preparing patients for surgery.
