The Pharmacist (Procurement Specialist) is responsible for overseeing all areas of medication (controlled and non-controlled substances) and outpatient supply procurement, fluid and supply inventory control, management of the pharmacy budget and different fund control points, pharmacy service contracting, oversight of receiving and tagging equipment receiving, drug recalls, drug shortages, and drug conversions. Also coordinates various administrative and clinical duties and assignments. Assumes full ownership for automation and technology used to ensure appropriate inventory control for medications, fluids, and supplies. This position includes secondary responsibilities as a clinical pharmacist and functions administratively under the Chief of Pharmacy Service, and when assigned to general clinical duties, to the section supervisor.
