The Lead Maternal-Fetal Medicine Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for serving as a person for patients, providers and staff, facilitating access to MFM services and arranging for services, tests, and procedures at the direction of the care provider. They coordinate the flow and exchange of information related to patient activity and perform registration and scheduling functions. This position requires computer skills and excellent customer service skills.
Coordinates the flow and exchange of information related to scheduling of any exams or tests for MFM patients.
Performs appropriate registration and scheduling functions
Schedules exams, tests, procedures and follow-up and any services that the patient may require, as taken from doctors referrals/orders.
Obtains consultation from or refers to technologist, nurse, physician or other provider (as appropriate) when questions of clinical nature are presented.
Is responsible for answering of multiple telephone lines and taking care of the callers needs quickly and correctly.
Templates daily schedules according to the professional staff availability. Communicates critical appointment needs to the Patient Care Supervisor
Daily staffing responsibilities as assigned
Staff work schedule for all MFM sites. Manages daily staffing, including ill calls. Collects STO requests and organizes for approval and assigns coverage.
Assists with human resource functions as assigned
Orients, mentors and assures proper training and complete competency testing of new employees.
Helps promote staff growth, development and employee engagement. Identifies opportunities for and participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives.
First point of contact for customer concerns
Oversees and encourages TruthPoint participation by patients and staff to initiate.
Responsible for helping with primary level patient concerns for delays. Helps de-escalate by offering service recovery means. Knows when it is critical to call the Patient Care Supervisor to assist.
Finds solutions to scheduling issues, concerns, and changes.
Leader in EPIC information for updates and registration processes. Assists with daily charge capture.
Assist with insurance prior authorization as requested.
