This requires 24/7 coverage and may include both day and night shifts. The MICU attending physician must be onsite for their assigned shift. Manage patients with Critical Care related conditions such as but not limited to: acute and chronic respiratory failure, obstructive and restrictive airway disease, home oxygen dependency problems, the patient in shock of diverse origin, severe sepsis, and others. Perform procedures related to critical care medicine such as: basic and advanced airway management, rapid sequence intubation, management of mechanical ventilation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and venous central line placement.
