The Fairview Southdale Hospital Operating Room (Edina, MN) is the epicenter for GYN Davinci surgery. Within our 24 operating Room, our physicians perform over 20,000 surgeries per year including Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery, and others. Our Eye Surgery department is State of the Art and our hospital has been named a Blue Cross Blue Shield Distinction Center for Spine Surgery and Hip and Knee replacement.
Working as an RN - Nurse in the Fairview Southdale Hospital Operating Room, you will work among the top healthcare professionals in the nation, providing high quality care with a focus on patient safety and a team supported environment.
The schedule for this OR RN position will be:
72 hours in two weeks.
Day/Evening, 8 hour shifts.
Includes rotation of weekends and holidays.
May include some call hours, they are part of the work agreement for RN's in the Fairview Southdale Operating Suites.
Call time is 30 minutes.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient populations and for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedure and professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others (surgical technologist, nursing assistant, huc) as appropriate.
MN RN license
BLS for health care providers
OR RN work experience
or completion in the AORN Periop 101 program/course, or RN new graduate who has completed their OR internship or has clinical experience as a surgical technologist.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment are a must
Strongly prefer RN work experience in a main Operating Room with cross-team training
Experience supporting Peds and Adults
BSN strongly preferred or BSN enrolled and wiillingness to obtain in the near future
