Duties and needs of this position include, but are not limited to: provides Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment and manages the TMS clinic screens and reviews consults, evaluating for suitability for treatment, educates the patient/family, obtains written informed consent, determines cap placement, positions the helmet, locates anatomical landmarks, determines the motor threshold, communicates treatment parameters and scheduling needs with TMS clinic staff, communicates with referral sources and other providers, monitors treatment, addresses adverse effects, modifies and terminates treatment as needed, and issues aftercare recommendations highly skilled in the management of patients' mental health needs, with particular emphasis on the evaluation and management of treatment-resistant depression and suicide risk knowledgeable about and adherent to civil commitment law and procedures may carry an assigned clinical workload, such as seeing outpatients in the outpatient clinic setting for longitudinal care and seeing inpatient consults on the medical/surgical units delivers care via a variety of modalities including in-person, telehealth, and telephone care VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
