SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Cardiothoracic (CT) Nurse Coordinator serves as an expert level nurse in the care of CT patients and families and will participate in and oversee the clinical care of the CT surgery patient. This role will support team members caring for CT patients, and is expected to strongly collaborate with CT providers and the cardiac service line to optimize patient care, improve outcomes, such as extubation times, decrease length of stay, and promote patient safety and the early recovery pathways. The CT Nurse Coordinator will serve as a hands-on mentor and educator to team members caring for CT patients.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
Minimum of three years acute care cardiac experience required.
Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
BLS certification required.
Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
Case management experience preferred.
